The Full Salary Range for this position is $42,072.00 - $75,287.00 Annually. The Expected Hiring Range is $42,072 - $55,358 Annually depending on qualifications, with an excellent benefits package. Primary Duties/Brief Description of Work:
This is a high level Heating Ventilation Air-Conditioning (HVAC) position that works independently, requires little to no supervision, and makes independent high level decisions. This employee will design, install, maintain and repair all commercial-type HVAC equipment and have a proficient working knowledge of various building automation control systems. Duties include troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing defective equipment, components, and wiring. This employee will test electrical circuits and components for continuity and/or voltages using electrical test equipment, reassemble and test equipment following repairs, and inspect and test HVAC systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications and to detect and locate malfunctions. The individual in this position must maintain the required certifications; i.e., a State Plumbing & Heating Contractor's License H-1, 2, or 3 or higher and a Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (Freon) recovery license to ensure compliance with all applicable industry standards, policies and procedures, including Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) safety procedures. This employee will assist in training all new maintenance mechanics and work with and oversee their work in the field. The employee must have knowledge and ability to work on chillers, boilers, cooling towers, chilled water pumps, hot water pumps, heat pumps, split HVAC systems, and packaged HVAC units. Must maintain a clean work area at all times. The physical duties include: walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching and kneeling, stooping, lifting up to 25 lbs, and other activities associated with the primary responsibilities. The job is NON-EXEMPT under FLSA.
- High School Diploma/GED with 4 to 6 years of hands-on 'commercial' HVAC equipment experience (i.e. installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, &/or repair of 'commercial' HVAC equipment)
- Or No High School Diploma/GED with 8-10 years of hands-on 'commercial' HVAC equipment experience (i.e. installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, &/or repair of 'commercial' HVAC equipment)
- Or Associate's Degree with 2-4 years of hands-on 'commercial' HVAC equipment experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (Freon) recovery license "OR" the ability to obtain within 1 year
- State Plumbing & Heating Contractor's License H-1, H-2, or H-3 "OR" the ability to obtain within 6 months
- Prior experience working in other mechanical trades (Plumbing, Electrical and/or Carpentry) (indicate on application)
- Prior experience working with building automation control systems; i.e. Johnson Controls, tracer Summit, Automated Logic, Honeywell (must indicate on application)
- Knowledge of computer software, iPads and/or general office equipment
