Brief Description of Work:
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to lead and manage one of our 10 community recreation centers. The primary job function of this position is to provide diverse recreation programs to meet the needs of the community. Responsibilities and duties will involve developing, implementing, directing, coordinating and evaluating a variety of recreation activities. Duties also include programming events for youth, teens, adults and seniors with major emphasis on innovation and collaboration. The person in this position will promote and secure community support for programs as well as secure sponsors, grants and develop partnerships. This position is responsible for the operation of a community recreation center which includes duties such as: facility management, hiring, training, supervising and evaluating staff, which includes benefitted and non-benefitted staff and volunteers; maintaining records and developing reports concerning recreation center programs and program effectiveness. The selected applicant must possess great communication skills to ensure the highest level of customer service, create a positive environment for diverse recreation opportunities for all ages, and develop and maintain partnerships. The physical requirements of the job include but are not limited to: walking, standing, sitting for extended times, jogging, running and jumping for the purposes of instructing/leading recreation programs, lifting up to 30lbs and operating assigned equipment and vehicles as needed.

This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 1-3 years of experience in a recreation center or similar related facility working with youths, teens, adults, and seniors
- "OR" an Associate’s Degree with 5 years of experience in a recreation center or similar related facility working with youths, teens, adults, and seniors
- Valid Driver's License
- Current First Aid and CPR certification ("OR" obtained within 6 months of hire date)
- 1-3 years of experience in recreation programming
- 1-3 years of experience managing employees and volunteers
- Experience using Microsoft Office programs
An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Recreation Management, Physical Education, Sports Management, or a closely related field.
- Experience developing and managing budgets
- Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP)
- Experience with recreation management software (e.g., Rec Track or related software)
- Experience with summer camp management and facilitation
