About the Role
As an MWBE Specialist, you will:
- Assist in implementing the MWBE Program Plan in alignment with City Council policy.
- Conduct contract-specific compliance reviews and serve on evaluation review committees.
- Assess MWBE capacity and develop remedial assistance plans to support vendors.
- Perform data collection, analysis, and reporting related to supplier diversity.
- Oversee monthly audits of subcontractor payments and contract compliance.
- Provide daily support to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring strong community engagement.
- Work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
- Oversee Construction Education and Training Programs and support MWBE growth in construction industries.
This role requires occasional travel within the Greensboro (13-County) region.
You must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 1 or more years of relevant experience (
- Associate Degree AND 5 or more years of relevant experience
- High School Diploma/GED AND 7 or more years of relevant experience
Relevant experience includes:
- Supplier diversity programs
- Competitive bidding
- Construction contracting
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Valid Driver’s License
- MWBE Program experience
- Experience reading and understanding construction plans & cost estimation
- Contract and procurement operations in government
- Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal procurement laws
- Certified Local Government Purchasing Officer (CLGPO)
- Certified Economic Inclusion Officer (or must obtain within four years of employment)
