What are the responsibilities and job description for the River Park North Park Attendants position at City of Greenville, NC?
Greenville's Recreation and Parks Department is currently recruiting for attendants to issue and collect fees, handle concession sales, provide public information, and enforce rules and regulations. This position will perform maintenance tasks to include facilities and trails, picking up litter and trash, cleaning restrooms and shelters, and assisting with patrols through the park.
Opportunities to lead, develop, and assist with programs are possible. Preference will be given to applicants that have experience leading outdoor recreation and environmental education programs.
Minimum Age: 17 years old (at the time of application)
Hours: River Park North is open to the public 7 days a week, Monday through Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., depending on the season
- Attendants work a schedule of 5 – 40 hours a week, including weekends and some holidays.
- Applicants should be comfortable around the water and watercraft, speaking to and interacting with the public, and know the outdoors and outdoor recreational opportunities.
- Park Attendants may occasionally be required to perform similar duties at Wildwood Park throughout the year.
- Must possess a valid driver's license issued by N.C. or another state.
- Valid CPR, First Aid/AED certifications are required within 60 days of hire.
Examples of Duties
- Complete transactions and reservations;
- Interact with customers;
- Answer the telephone and provide the public with needed information;
- Collect trash, trail maintenance, maintain the cleanliness of the Nature Center and bathrooms;
- Assist with programs and tours;
- Patrol the park to enforce rules and regulations;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
