FUNCTION:Â Enter meter readings for commercial and residential electric, water, and sprinkler meters into a handheld mobile computer.
Primary Responsibilities
- Read electric, water, and sprinkler meters
- Report damaged or leaking meters and any evidence of illegal usage
- Re-read meters for negative, high, or low consumption
- Perform maintenance check of the assigned vehicle each week and submit inspection log weekly; schedule routine maintenance to vehicle
- Provide information as to conditions and directions to meters; maintain equipment in good working order (i.e. meter tubes, pumps, shovels, ladders, etc.)
- Report any unsafe conditions in reading areas
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications And Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent plus some course work or computer training beyond high school
- 1-2 years of related experience in an office environment, preferably including some customer contact
- Texas Driver's License
- This position requires a good deal of walking, bending, and stooping
- Pumping water meters, using binoculars, meter tubes, and occasionally ladders
