Details: Job Description
- Operate wastewater treatment plant per NPDES Permit Requirements
- Operates, maintains, and performs minor repairs on wastewater treatment plant equipment
- Perform daily inspections and diagnoses equipment operational problems.
- Reads gauges and meters
- Starts/Stops equipment and operates valves to route and control flow, makes process control adjustments, determines, and sets proper chemical dosages and flow rates
- Works with PLCs and SCADA system
- Collects samples and performs laboratory testing
- Perform lift station checks, inspections, and maintenance
- Pumps and processes bio-solids
- Grounds maintenance to include mowing, plowing, trimming, and painting
- Follows written and oral instructions
- Ability to respond to requests by management
- Ability to be on call and respond to emergency conditions on short notice
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age and a high school graduate
- Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Michigan Class C wastewater operator’s license or the ability to obtain one within a year of hire.
- CDL license preferred but not required
- Mechanical and electrical knowledge preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work alone with minimum supervision
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions
- Some work areas can have loud noise, active machinery, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gasses, pathogens and various chemicals.
- Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, twist and bend at the waist, turn, kneel, squat, raise arms above shoulders.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ascend and descend stairs and ladders
- Wear and use appropriate safety equipment.
Hours:
- This is a full-time position Monday through Friday with rotating weekend and holiday duty.
- Hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Compensation: Stating pay with no license $34.62 an hour
