The Grinnell Fire Department is seeking to hire Part-Time positions. Our department provides fire and ALS medical transport to the City of Grinnell and surrounding area. These positions include Part-Time Firefighter, Part-Time Firefighter/EMS, or Part-Time EMS. Duties include responding to emergencies such as fire, emergency medical, hazardous materials, or rescue calls. Writing and reviewing reports, assisting with and completing training, driving and operating emergency vehicles, station and vehicle maintenance, and community outreach.

Minimum Qualifications:

All candidates must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED. All positions require applicants to have a valid Iowa driver’s license. Applicants must have valid Iowa EMS certifications or have the ability to receive reciprocity.

• Part-Time Firefighter/EMS: Firefighter I and EMT
• Part-Time Firefighter: Firefighter I
• Part-Time EMS: EMT

Starting pay is based on qualifications and ranges from $18.49 - $21.15 per hour. Applicants will be required to pass an entry physical, drug test, and background screening.
