The Grove City Parks and Recreation Department is currently seeking a highly motivated and creative graphic designer to join our team. This is a part-time position that will be responsible for creating visual content that communicates our brand and message across multiple platforms. You will collaborate with our Parks Recreation Department teams to design graphics, social media posts, and website content that resonate with our audience and drive engagement, ensuring all design elements align with our brand identity.Appointed by the Mayor in consultation with the Administrative Assistant, the Graphic Designer, under the immediate supervision of the Parks and Recreation Deputy Director. is responsible for assisting with creation of visual content for multiple departments using multiple platforms. The ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications: Has the ability to follow all rules, regulations and ethics conduct as set forth by the Grove City Parks and Recreation Department and the City of Grove City.Has the ability to develop visual content, collaborate with teams, ensure brand consistency, produce high-quality deliverables, and stay updated on trends.Has strong graphic design and layout skills, shows creativity and flexibility, is deadline-oriented, and has strong communication and time management skills.Has the ability to quickly learn and utilize a variety of design and editing software programs.Social media content creation or web design experience preferred but not required. Is at least 18 years of age and has some formal education in graphic design, or at least 1 year of professional work experience in graphic design. Schedule: M-F with negotiable working hours, maximum of 28 hours per weekStarting salary: $19.64 per hourWork location: 3226 Kingston Avenue Great for a college students, retirees, or anyone in-between looking for flexible part-time employment in a creative role!
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Obeys and promptly executes all orders of the Administrative Assistant. Plans and illustrates concepts by designing rough layouts of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetics.Coordinates with internal teams in the design concept phase through project completion.Obtains approval of concepts by preparing rough layouts for review.Prepares final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art.Obtains final copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment and by making purchases from vendors when required.Coordinates with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc., to complete projects.Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.Performs other duties as assigned.
