Position Function:
Under the direct supervision of the Facility Maintenance Superintendent, performs duties necessary to support the Facility Maintenance Division to ensure the proper cleanliness, orderliness, and general maintenance of City buildings, facilities, and grounds.
Essential Duties:
- Performs duties necessary to support the Facility Maintenance Division to ensure the proper cleanliness, orderliness, and general maintenance of City buildings, facilities, and grounds. Responsible for trash and debris removal; vacuuming, waxing, mopping, and sweeping floors; cleaning and disinfecting toilets and sinks; dusting and polishing furniture; washing/cleaning windows; sweeping sidewalks and walkways; and shampooing and steam cleaning carpets and rugs.
- Responsible for maintaining cleaning supplies and essential work tools supply lists.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge and experience normally obtained through the completion of a curriculum resulting in either a High School Diploma or GED is preferred, but not required; one (1) year work related experience is required.
- Must exhibit attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
- Must be able to communicate and present oneself professionally.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently operate tools used to perform duties.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working and professional relationships with City employees officials, and the general public.
- Ability to take and follow oral instructions.
- Ability to read and understand product instructions.
Other Requirements:
- Must possess a Valid Florida Class E driver's license.
- Must pass applicable pre-employment testing and background and credit checks.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
This position may be required to report for work when a declaration of emergency has been declared in Polk County.
