Performs a variety of complex professional work preparing and reviewing legal documents, legal opinions, and other legal work applicable to local, state, and federal government law, trial, and appellate work. May be required to represent the municipality before administrative agencies or courts. Work is performed under nominal direction with considerable latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. Position develops solutions to non-routine issues, without appreciable guidance from others and exercises significant latitude in determining best approaches to critical assignments.

Graduation from a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association with a Juris Doctor degree. Four (4) or more years’ experience as a practicing attorney; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Litigation experience preferred.
Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment. Must be a member in good standing of the Florida Bar Association. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
Salary : $99,835 - $169,720
