Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the care, cleaning and maintenance of park facilities, depending on area of assignment. Operates a variety of tools, equipment, and vehicles in the cleaning, operation, repair, and maintenance of City parks, beaches, and facilities. Work is performed under close supervision with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

High school diploma or GED; supplemented by some experience in parks maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Must have or obtain First Aide, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External (AED) certifications within three (3) months of hire. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO), Certified Playground Inspector (CPSI) preferred, depending on area of assignment. May be required to have or obtain additional formal industry certification(s) based on area of assignment.
Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment. Must have a valid Florida driver's license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
