What are the responsibilities and job description for the Planning Intern position at City of Hallandale Beach?
The Planning Intern will be mentored by and support mid-level and senior Planning & Zoning staff. This individual will assist with current and/or advanced projects ranging from code amendments and development application review to clerical and administrative planning assignments. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience and a better understanding of the municipal planning field.
The Planning Intern position will conduct field investigations and collect data in support of City planning projects, perform front line service via the service counter, provide advice and technical assistance to community agencies engaged in site planning, provide support for presentations made to government officials and citizens on City planning programs.
Supervision Received and Exercised
Must be currently enrolled or recently graduated within one (1) year from an accredited college or university degree program in Urban Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Geography or closely related field. No experience required for this position.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.

This position is a non-exempt Temporary Part-time position. The position works up to 25 hours per week for an undefined period of time. Work schedule is coordinated based on the student's schedule. The City of Hallandale Beach working hours are 7:00 A.M. to 6: 00 P.M. Monday - Thursday.
