What are the responsibilities and job description for the Water Plant Operator/Trainee position at City of Hallandale Beach?
Performs a variety of semi-skilled and manual work in the operation, maintenance and repair of water treatment facilities and systems. As this is a trainee position, applicants that have passed the FDEP Class “C” Water Treatment Plant Operator certification exam preferred when being considered for employment. Any candidate considered for this position that has not sat for and passed the FDEP Water Treatment Plant Operator Class “C” state exam will be provided up to 24 months to successfully pass the state exam. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Water Treatment Plant Chief Operator with guidance from Water Plant Operators A, B, and C.

High school diploma or GED. Be able to perform simple mathematical operations such as add, subtract, multiply, divide, and compute percentages. Must be able to Print legibly.
Must have or obtain certifications from the Federal Emergency Management Administration, National Incident Management System (NIMS) IS-700 within one (1) year of employment start date. Must have a valid Florida driver's license and maintain satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.Salary : $23
