Network and Telecommunications Manager
to oversee and enhance our cutting-edge computer network infrastructure, data center, enterprise telephone system, cellular telephone accounts, internet connectivity, and E911 telephone system. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications or closely related field.Requires four (4) years managing telecommunications in a supervisory position or closely related experience.A combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.Must successfully pass a background check related to this position prior to any offer of employment or promotion.Must possess a driver's license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record based on the City of Hampton's criteria.Additional Requirements

What
will be doing :
Manages the City's campus wide telephone system, orders services, negotiates maintenance contracts, authorizes payments of invoices and plans for upgrades.Manages the City's computer network, data center, servers, and storage, plan for upgrades, and purchase new equipment.Manages and oversees the City's public safety radio system, manages maintenance contracts, sets billing for internal service departments, manages FCC frequencies and plans for upgrades to system.Approves the payment of invoices and purchase orders for services and equipment for network, telecommunications and radio system.Develops request for proposals for bids for maintenance contracts as well as purchasing for services and equipment for division.Attends meetings on various projects, coordinates with other departments, acts as secretary and staff for Public Safety Technology Board.Writes and approves MOU's for Radio system for outside agencies, sets policies for radio system.
