Are you a data-driven problem solver with a passion for process improvement? The City of Hampton is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Analyst to lead efforts in automating business processes and enhancing the functionality of integrated payroll and human resource systems. Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or a related field of study.
- Five (5) years of experience with data quality, data stewardship or data management with at least two (2) years developing data queries for more complex analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of data management, database report writing and reporting is required.
Preferred Qualifications :
Advanced knowledge of integrated payroll and human resource systems best practices.Advanced use of spreadsheet software and integrated payroll and human resource systems experience.Experience in computer programming of Microsoft .NET applications highly desirable.A combination of experience and education may be considered for this position.Preferred Qualifications

What YOU will be doing :
Administers and ensures the overall integrity of assigned systems data and serves as the IT subject matter expert for assigned departmental staff, working closely to ensure systems are up-to-date and meet the City of Hampton's needs.Provides ongoing technical support for a variety of IT applications such as : employee / manager self-service, benefits modules, time and attendance, payroll processing and human resources functions. Performs routine data audits and analysis and addresses issues with users.Provides support for assigned City integrated systems including, but not limited to, researching and resolving problems, unexpected results or process flaws; performing scheduled activities; recommending solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.Collects data, compiles, writes and generates a variety of reports from databases reflecting key metrics and analytics.Serves as liaison between assigned departments and IT as well as external technical support vendor teams to provide systems support and analysis and to leverage technology solutions to meet the needs of users throughout the enterprise.Assists management in identifying and analyzing options and recommends process enhancements.Assists assigned department staff with technical issues related to the use of integrated payroll and human resource systems.Assists staff in the creation of queries to select and compile information from integrated systems as needed.Assists with project oversight from design through implementation including identifying, tracking, monitoring and communicating project-related issues, scope changes, variances and contingencies that occur during the course of projects.Monitors project work to maintain progress within expected guidelines and ensure project completion on a timely basis.Executes project timelines and communicates progress updates to senior management.Creates test scenarios and assists project team members in performing tests to ensure all processes work according to predetermined goals.Assists in creating and conducting end-user training on assigned systems and report writing.Supports system upgrades, patches, testing and other technical projects as assigned.Acts as functional report writing administrator.Benefits Overview
