If so, then consider joining the City of Hampton's Parks, Recreation and Leisure Services Department as a Tennis Court Attendant serving the community at the Hampton Tennis Center (HTC) or often called The Ole Hampton Tennis Club. The purpose of this position within the organization is to perform general maintenance on tennis courts. This class is responsible for making tennis court reservations and collecting fees for court use. This position works under close supervision according to set procedures and reports to the Director of Tennis.
Minimum Requirements
- Requires knowledge of the game of tennis and the ability to use a cash register. Requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; the ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with others.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Must be 16 years of age at the time of hire.
- Must successfully pass a background check related to this position prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
Additional Requirements
- Requires shift work to include nights, weekends and holidays.
- Requires extensive contact with the public.
- Must be cordial to all citizens regardless of their disposition.
- The incumbent may be considered “essential personnel” during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
