Internship Overview
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Requires work during variable hours to include evenings, weekends and holidays for events.Program Duration: June 2, 2025 - August 8, 2025
Rate of Pay:
Undergraduate Students: $16.24 per hourGraduate Students: $20.58 per hour
Internships are non-exempt positions. Summer interns will not work more than forty (40) hours in an administrative work week.
The Coliseum will host two interns under this program.
As a Coliseum/Marketing Intern, you will:
- Assist in developing and implementing targeted social media campaigns for upcoming events.
- Coordinate media activations, including setting up press opportunities and advertising campaigns.
- Create marketing collateral such as flyers, event programs, and online content.
- Support promotional efforts to enhance visibility and ticket sales for shows and events.
- Creating engaging social media content and managing online platforms
- Developing and executing marketing campaigns for large-scale events.
- Collaborating on promotional strategies and event advertising.
As a Coliseum/Events Intern, you will:
- Coordinate with the operations team, promoters, tour managers, and other stakeholders to ensure all show requirements are met.
- Oversee and manage the physical setup of the event, including staging, lighting and sound.
- Schedule staff positions for events, ensuring all roles are covered efficiently.
- How to manage the logistics of events from initial planning to execution.
- Working with various vendors and how to manage contracts/budgets
- Technical aspects of event setup, such as sound, lighting, and equipment.
- Problem-solving as you resolve issues and adapt to changing circumstances.
Department Final Project: Interns will work on a department-specific project designed to improve or enhance an event or function at the Coliseum. This project will be presented at a culminating ceremony attended by City leaders, highlighting the intern’s contributions and insights gained throughout the program.
Requirements:
Current Student, Recent Graduate or Graduate Student: Interns must be currently enrolled as a rising college junior, a rising college senior, or a recent college graduate (2024 or 2025) or a current graduate student studying Marketing, Communications, Events, Tourism and Recreation, or a related field from an accredited college/university and be in good academic standing. Transcripts are required as a supplement to this application.
GPA: 3.0 or higher.
