Come join the City's Recreation team as a Fishing Pier Team Leader at the James T. Wilson Fishing Pier, located just down from Buckroe Beach’s bay-front park. The pier is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week through the fishing season and attracts patrons from all over the country.
We are looking for an enthusiastic team leader to assist with the various day-to-day operations of the pier and provide excellent customer service while engaging our citizens and visitors.
This position performs and lead others in performing routine work in the areas of pier operations, concessions, customer service, and maintenance. Provides supervision to front-line workers and requires shift work to include evenings, weekends, holidays and on call emergency standby on a rotating basis.
Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or successful completion of a GED.
- Three (3) years of experience in customer service to include a minimum of one (1) year of experience in cash handling.
- One (1) year of experience supervising or overseeing the work of others preferred.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
- This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City’s current substance abuse policy.
- Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
