What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Works/Steam Plant - Weigh Master (part-time) position at City of Hampton?
The purpose of this class is to perform the duties of a weigh master, which includes directing refuse vehicles to the tipping floor, dumping refuse in the storage pit, keeping records of all vehicles entering and exiting the facility, weighing in city refuse and commercial trucks, and maintaining records of all refuse vehicles entering and exiting the facility.

- High school diploma or GED
- Some experience or training in the operation of a computer console.
- Must successfully pass a background check related to this position prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
- This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City’s current substance abuse policy.
- The incumbent may be considered “essential personnel” during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager which may include long hours and unusual schedules
Salary : $33,762 - $60,772
