Description
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
The Bus Driver-Seasonal is a temporary (seasonal) position and will be transporting students to and from sites for the Summer Recreation Programs. The Bus Driver is responsible for complying with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

React quickly and calmly in emergencies.- Transport students to and from sites for the summer programs.
- Communicate orally in the English and Spanish language.
- Observes safety regulations and communicates potential safety hazards.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
Additional Requirements:
Some positions will require the performance of other essential and marginal functions depending upon assignment.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED & EXERCISED
Supervision is received from the Athletic/League Contract Manager.- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
Qualifications:
Bus Driver Certification from Region 1.
Ability to:
Work cooperatively with other employees and the public.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent; or 6 months related experience.
Licenses, Certificates & Registrations:
Valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License, Class “B”- CPR certified or must be able to obtain first aid and CPR certification within first 10 days of employment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee is regularly required to sit and use hand and finger. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The employee is exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
