Description
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
The Head Track Coach-Seasonal is a temporary (seasonal) position and is in charge of planning, organizing, coordinating, and supervising track and field instruction and training, local track & field meets, and athlete registration. Incumbent plans and supervises participation and supervises travel to advance competitions for athletes that qualify.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

React quickly and calmly in emergencies.- Administer first aid and CPR.
- Developing track and field instruction and practice plans.
- Supervising and organizing coaching staff.
- Communicate orally in the English and Spanish language
- Observes safety regulations and communicates potential safety hazards.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
Additional Requirements:
Some positions will require the performance of other essential and marginal functions depending upon assignment.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED & EXERCISED
Supervision is received from the Athletic/League Contract Manager.- This position supervises the Summer Track staff.
QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.- Knowledge of TAAF rules regarding meets, practice times and particular restrictions.
Ability to:
Work cooperatively with other employees and the public.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent; and must have at least five years’ experience as a Track and Field Coach.
Licenses, Certificates & Registrations:
CPR certified or must be able to obtain first aid and CPR certification within first 10 days of employment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee is regularly required to sit and use hand and finger. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The employee is exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
