POSITION SUMMARY

The Engineering Technician serves as a supporting role of the Engineering Department, performing a variety of tasks that include performing computer aided drafting and design (CAD) for in-house engineering projects; operates, updates, and ensures the accuracy of HWWS’s geographic information system (GIS) of infrastructure assets, provides detailed technical review and comment on utility plans for proposed development to ensure design standards are met; assist department engineers in the maintenance and execution of HWWS’s asset management program; performs select field surveying assignments; coordinates with other departments and field staff on technical issues and work orders; maintains engineering data records; and prepares reports and maps for management. The Engineering Technician will perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or department head.
