The School Bus Aide is a full-time position with benefits and a preferred hiring range of $17.40 - $18.70 per hour. The ideal candidate for this position will be available when Harrisonburg City Public Schools are in session to help ensure that local students arrive at school, field trips, and athletics events in a safe manner.
As a School Bus Aide, you'll assist:
- The school bus driver in maintaining discipline;
- Students boarding and leaving the school bus;
- Students with special transportation needs, such as wheelchairs, braces, crutches, and more;
- With the security of students on the bus while observing the special needs of passengers;
- With cleaning and maintaining the inside of the school bus.
- High school diploma or GED and some experience in working with children, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
