Do you have what it takes to be a Code Enforcement Officer? The City of Hesperia is seeking an inquisitive and service-oriented Code Enforcement Officer to join our investigative team that specializes in the prevention, detection, and enforcement of violations of the municipal code. Our team uses a cooperative approach to conduct inspections and investigations of buildings, vacant lots, businesses, rental properties, and commercial properties pertaining to violations such as the zoning ordinance, sanitary regulations, business license regulations, and the nuisance abatement ordinance.
Examples of Duties
As a Teamster Local 1932 represented Code Enforcement Officer, you will work a rotating 4/10 schedule to conduct technical field inspections, interview individuals, conduct preliminary field investigations, and issue notices of violations and administrative citations as needed to ensure that the municipal code is being followed. You will also prepare documentation, correspondences and reports regarding investigations and cases for use in prosecution; produces photographs and records of violations for purposes of evidence; conducts research of property history; represents the City before appropriate advisory and appeals boards regarding enforcement of non-compliance.

Pay: $6,287.00 - $7,642.00 per month
