Description
This position is responsible for assisting the Health & Wellbeing Coordinator with the supervision of all fitness staff insuring they are providing exceptional customer service and keeping them on schedule with day to day tasks in addition to assisting the Health & Wellbeing Coordinator in all areas related to fitness.
Essential Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Responsible for handling all CORE fit operations in the absence of the Health & Wellbeing Coordinator.
- Assists the Health & Wellbeing Coordinator with training Fitness Specialists for certification of all youth and teens for use of equipment in relations to fitness programs.
- Assists Health & Wellbeing Coordinator by ensuring Fitness Specialist are completing all safety inspections and at a minimum assist with annual performance reviews.
- Ensures all fitness staff is implementing Health & Wellbeing procedures for CORE kids Physical Education class.
- Assists Health & Wellbeing Coordinator with Youth and Families programing.
- Assists Health & Wellbeing Coordinator with activities relating to CORE monthly projects. Ensures Fitness Specialist are monitoring fitness equipment and activities.
- Assists with assessing evaluations of employees.
- Ensures all areas and equipment are kept clean.
- Ensures Fitness Specialists and CORE Attendants are completing routine tasks as assigned to include maintenance of fitness storage rooms & equipment as well as troubleshoots any problems that arise with fitness equipment.
- Enforces all Health & Wellbeing policies and procedure and is able to communicate to citizens all programs offered specifically through the Health & Wellbeing Department.
- Communicates effectively to Health & Wellbeing Coordinator regarding any fitness related questions from patrons, current instructors, and personal trainers.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
- Maintains records for various fitness programs.
- Communicates effectively with Health & Wellbeing Coordinator for any concerns related to Health & Wellbeing Department.
- Assists the Health & Wellbeing Coordinator with the creation of flyers for CORE events and all programing.
- Assists the Health & Wellbeing Coordinator with the creation of packets for all programs related to Fitness.
- Assists with the planning of special events.
- Budgets and monitors budget for special events and all programs.
- Assists the Health & Wellbeing Coordinator in the collection of data for Health & Wellbeing Department.
- Assists the Health & Wellbeing Coordinator with any related tasks.
- Adheres to assigned work and implements the CORE mission and philosophy.
- May serve on various employee committees, as required and assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience :
High school diploma or high school equivalency (HSE) required with one (1) year experience in strength training, cardio training, or overall fitness required. Clerical experience required. Supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
LICENSING AND CERTIFICATIONS
Valid state issued driver's license required.
Ability to obtain CPR / AED / First Aid certification within 60 days of hire.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Work under the general supervision of the Health & Wellbeing Coordinator, CORE Facility Director, and Recreation Director.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Limited supervision of Fitness Specialists and CORE Attendants.
