About the Role
This is a temporary/seasonal position that requires attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently. You will be responsible for cleaning restrooms, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, shampooing, and spot cleaning carpeting and floors as required by schedule. Additionally, you will clean light fixtures and blinds, dust all public areas, and empty trash from receptacles and remove to dumpsters.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, refill paper and soap dispensers
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, wax, shampoo, and spot clean carpeting and floors as required by schedule
- Clean light fixtures and blinds
- Dust all public areas
- Empty trash from receptacles and remove to dumpsters
- Maintain cleaning equipment and notify supervisor of necessary repairs
Requirements
- At least two years' experience with janitorial work
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Must be at least 19 years old and subject to background investigation check
- Valid driver's license required
Work Environment
This role involves working in city buildings, which may expose you to dust, dirt, grease, and irritating chemicals. You may be required to wear protective devices such as masks, goggles, or gloves. The job requires standing, walking, bending, crouching, or stooping, and frequent lifting of objects up to 50 pounds.
