What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Assistant Sr. - Front Desk PT position at City of Hoover?
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association First Aid and CPR Certifications are not required when applying, but must be obtained upon employment
- Previous experience managing computer systems and point of sale systems along with basic knowledge using Microsoft Windows software
- Clerical experience along with the ability to multi-task
- Experience in athletics, aquatics, fitness or general recreation
- Greets visitors in-person and by telephone courteously and promptly
- Responds politely to every member inquiry and directs questions to appropriate supervisor, if needed
- Assists member in registering for membership and classes through software system
- Provide information to members about upcoming programs, events, and cancelations
- Organizes the front desk office area and maintains a clean, professional appearance
- Balances receipts and complete transaction sheets at the end of each shift
- Deliver messages to appropriate people in a timely manner
- Participates and attends all staff meetings and in-service trainings
- Notifies custodian and management of any adverse building conditions
- Enforces departmental and City policies as needed in conjunction with management
- Attends in-service and other trainings as needed
- May be required to assist outside of normal business hours with special events as needed
