Job Overview
The Community Resource Center Director is responsible for ensuring the Community Resource Center is responsible for the development and implementation of a long-term strategy for the center to reach meet its goals, mission and objectives. The position establishes an internal and external leadership role in the functions of the center, as well as developing partnerships with various non-profit organizations. The Community Resource Center Director is responsible for official records and documents and ensures the organization complies with federal, state, and local laws.
Responsibilities
- Promotes the Hot Springs Community Resource Center within the state of Arkansas, Garland County and the City of Hot Springs.
- Partners closely with leadership to develop center policies and procedures.
- Stays informed of new trends and industry information. Advocates for the center and collaborates with other agencies that affect both the city and the county’s social service sector.
- Represents the City in a professional manner as the spokesperson for the center, to include the Board of Directors, non-profit organizations and media.
- Develops and executes a solid fundraising and development plan. Fundraising will include developing and growing relationships with donors from diversified sources including public and private sources, individual and organizational memberships, corporate contributions and sponsorships, private foundations, grants, and fund-raising events.
- Oversees planning, implementation and evaluation of programs and services. Collects and reports data monthly to the Deputy City Manager while serving as an advocate for informed decision-making.
- Develops internal resources of the organization. Implements and strengthen systems and procedures to enhance and sustain its operations.
- Maintains strong relationships and collaborates with the Friends of the Hot Springs Community Resource Center, as well as other non-profit organizations in the city.
- Recruit, train, and retain volunteers that have technical and personal abilities to further the mission of the Center.
- Develop, implement, and monitor organizational budget and ensure that funding requirements and reports are completed accurately.
- Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Public Administration or other related field; education and experience may be substituted. Minimum of 3 years administrative experience working in a nonprofit serving under-resourced and/or unsheltered families and individuals. Experience directly related to fundraising, non-profit management, and advocacy required.
- Professional Certifications in program delivery areas.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other similar programs.
· Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to develop and implement goals and systems to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly; detail-oriented and results-driven.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking.
· Skilled in fundraising from diversified sources of income, both public and private sector.
· Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or Board of Directors.
· Management skills and experience in leading and working with a diverse staff and volunteer workforce as well as the ability to communicate and implement ideas, motivate, and educate as needed.
· Ability to develop and evaluate proposals for legislation and governmental policy.
· Maintain confidentiality, neutrality, and professionalism.
· Maintain an organized, clean, and productive work environment.
· Knowledgeable of, or willing to learn about, homelessness, behavioral / mental health issues, addictions and trauma.
· Energy and passion for serving the community, creating a culture that allows for self-sufficiency and growth, and committed to the goals of the organization.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 per year
