Position Title: Administrative Supervisor
Division: Public Health Services
Section: Bureau of Oral Health
Location: 8000 North Stadium Dr., 6th Floor
Workdays & Hours: Mon-Fri. (8am-5pm)*

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs varied administrative functions in the direction and coordination of programs and procedures in the assigned department.
- Supervises, coordinates, trains and evaluates dental personnel.
- Manages dental practices.
- Maintains Oral Health policies and community training materials.
- Participate on committees and special projects as assigned.
- Coordinates special projects, including developing community presentations on oral health.
- Leads student education program for the school-linked sealant program, Project Saving Smiles.
- Special projects as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS
There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature and air conditions. The position is physically comfortable, the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Political Science, Psychology or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) years of experience in personnel, administration, accounting or a closely related field are required.
Directly related professional experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
None.
PREFERENCES
- 2 years supervising/managing staff
- 1 year clinic management experience
- Skilled in Excel applications
- Policy writing experience
- Working knowledge of the City of Houston and Houston Health Department policies.
GENERAL INFORMATION
