Description Of Duties/Essential Functions
The Houston Public Works Department is seeking candidates who can:
May require working in all types of weather and dusty, noisy environments. Some physical exertion such as climbing ladders and lifting objects up to 40 pounds. The pounds individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc.
This is a Department of Houston Public Works Emergency Management Position at the Tier I Level.
Minimum Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or a GED. Requires a valid Texas driver's license and compliance with the City of Houston's policy on driving.
Minimum Experience Requirements
Five (5) years of Maintenance and/or Restoration experience.
Minimum License Requirements
A Valid Driver’s License and compliance with the City of Houston’s policy on driving.
PREFERENCES
Preference Will Be Given To Candidates With

Description Of Duties/Essential Functions
The Houston Public Works Department is seeking candidates who can:
- Maintains time and attendance via KRONOS system.
- Plans, coordinates and directs the activities of employees who are engaged in providing facility maintenance at the City of Houston's Groundwater Plants. Such as centrifugal pumps, actuators, valves, air compressors, Generators, and all Groundwater mechanical equipment.
- Organizes and assigns the work of maintenance crew and monitors work in progress.
- Ensures that employees have adequate work supplies and properly functioning equipment in order to perform assigned tasks.
- Maintains current knowledge of technological advances, changes in statutes and impact of long-range planning objectives.
- Completes performance appraisals, recommends disciplinary and/or performance counseling as appropriate; ensures consistent application of personnel policies and procedures.

- 5 or more years of knowledge and/or experience in preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance related to pump repair (i.e. alignment and vibration testing).
- Experience supervising employees.
- Knowledge of EAM or similar work order management software.
- Who have the ability to maintain current knowledge of technical changes that affect activities and initiate appropriate actions pursuant to such changes; in addition to the ability to develop, implement and monitor productivity measures for individuals and groups.
