DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for providing professional analytical, administrative and/or management services in areas related to Accounting, Financial Reporting, Internal Controls, Grants and other financial areas as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Investigates and makes recommendations for addressing issues of medium and high complexity and/or sensitivity.
- Assigned management responsibilities on financial function with Financial Reporting and Operations division and function as a lead.
- Complies data, produces information and interprets results through conclusion and recommendation formulation. Develops reports, special documents or publications as assigned.
- Completes special projects as assigned, working on a wide variety if financial, administrative, professional and management issues and problems of medium and high complexity.
- Represent the division and department at meetings and functions to gather information and articulate opinions and recommendations.
- Participates in the development of management and administrative policies and procedures with both short- and long-term objectives.
- Analyze and review management practices and procedures and develop recommendations for improvement.
- Interpret administrative policies and oversee communication with department personnel regarding such policies.
- Participate in evaluation and design of workflow, processes, various operations systems, etc.
- Develop technological solutions and systems for continuous improvement programs and other appropriate applications.
- Negotiate solutions for problems of medium to high complexity as assigned by the supervisor and/or management.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort in a normal office environment.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a field directly related to the type of work being performed.
Graduate degrees related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Five years of professional administrative, financial or analytical experience related to the type of work being performed required.
Professional experience related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferences will be given to candidates with knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), 2 CFR Part 200 Office of Management and budget (OMB), guidelines and demonstrates abilities in handling various projects simultaneously developing cost models. Experience in interpreting and remaining in compliance with federal and state regulations related to grants management.
Special consideration will be given to applicants with experience in grant writing and management; SAP and financial reporting experience as well as applicants with strong Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher. Work is substantially complex and varied and requires the interpretation of technical and detailed guidelines, policies and procedures in combination. Analytical ability is needed to gather and interpret data.
