Job Summary:
We are seeking a Recreation Department Staff Member to join our team and contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality youth recreation programs.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating recreation programs and services, including facility operations, program scheduling, and participant registration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate facility use, scheduling, and maintenance, ensuring smooth operation of recreation programs
- Develop and implement youth recreation programs, including sports leagues, holiday programs, arts and crafts, and educational workshops
- Establish partnerships with schools, community groups, and local businesses to enhance program quality and reach
- Manage vendor and equipment relationships, ensuring timely procurement and maintenance of necessary items
- Monitor and manage inventory, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure timely allocation of resources
- Assist with grant writing and fundraising efforts to support program growth and special events
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Leisure Studies, or related field
- 2 years of experience in recreation program management, preferably in a municipal setting
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including children, parents, and community members
