About our Department:
Human Resources supports the development and interpretation of policies and procedures, recruitment, retention, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), training and development, salary administration, position classification, benefits, workers’ compensation, employee assistance program, health and wellness, performance evaluations, etc. In support of the City’s workforce, the Human Resources Department provides a full range of functions and services to over 2,000 full time and part-time employees.
Human Resources Analyst Position Overview:
This is professional Human Resources work involving a variety of specialized assignments to support the Human Resources programs and services. Prepares communications and correspondences to employees regarding Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) rights and expectations and informs employees of the FMLA process; informs departments about FMLA rights and responsibilities while maintaining appropriate confidentiality of employee medical information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), while ensuring compliance. Work involves supporting the Human Resources Analyst II’s and assisting the Human Resources Administration Manager and/or the Director of Human Resources in the coordination of activities and functions related to recruitment, selection, retention, examinations, training, classification, compensation and other related Human Resources programs and services.
Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Public or Business Administration or a related field from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and at least one (1) year of experience in professional human resources work is preferred.
Professional human resources work obtained from a municipal government experience is desired.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
