About our Department:
The Information Technology Service Department’s primary responsibilities are in the areas of providing information technology, developing and implementing recommended standards for information technology, developing and maintaining security policies and systems and coordinating the acquisition of information technology for all City Departments. Our goal is to provide the best data processing services to the City through the effective utilization of existing and new information technology. The ITS Department will implement and support technologies and processes that will increase service to City employees and enhance staff productivity.
Director of Information Technology Services Position Overview:
This is administrative and professional work involving the operation of the Information Technology Services (ITS) Department. Work involves overall responsibility for planning, managing, directing and implementing goals and objectives pertaining to communications infrastructure and information technology needs of the City. Work is performed with significant independence for initiative, judgment and action, and is reviewed by the Mayor for total results achieved.
Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business or Public Administration or a related field from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education; Master's Degree from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education preferred; at least seven (7) years experience in the field of information technology, including three (3) years supervisory experience; or any combination of education, training and experience.Must submit to fingerprinting
