Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced City Engineer/Assistant Public Works Director to lead our Engineering Department in the City of Hutchinson.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct all engineering services, including municipal infrastructure projects, environmental regulatory oversight, and public utilities management.
- Develop and implement the annual budget and five-year Capital Improvement Plan with the Director of Public Works and other city staff.
- Coordinate engineering review of new development proposals and oversee consultants providing expertise as needed.
- Manage design and construction of municipal infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Direct environmental and regulatory compliance for public utilities, including stormwater management and NPDES regulations.
- Provide professional direction and support services in areas related to engineering for the city.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering plus five years of progressively responsible engineering experience in a municipal or related work environment.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Minnesota and valid Minnesota Driver's License.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, officials, and the public.
Salary Range: $46.30/hour - $69.45/hour, Grade 210 Position.
