Position Summary
To assist the Judge or Magistrate in the administration of court operations . To insure the efficient and accurate operation of the Court. *This is not a security position*
Position Responsibilities
- Assists judicial officers during court proceedings, both in-person or remote hearings, including: calling cases; monitoring the audio recording equipment; creating and maintaining log notes; accepting, marking and maintaining evidence.
- Updates cases within the case management system, and completing work in the assigned queues.
- Assist with jury trials.
- Answers court telephone/email account and responds to questions from court representatives, attorneys and the general public.
- Assists with the effective management of the court calendar through confirmation of hearings with attorneys.
- Locates judicial coverage when needed.
- Assists with other duties and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education beneficial. Proven accomplished computer skills required. The bailiff duties involve an extensive amount of computer entry, updating, and information research. Excellent organizational skills and strict attention to details are essential, with the ability to multi-task extremely beneficial. Exceptional communication skills are required, with the ability to interact with diverse groups of individuals.
Salary is based on applicable experience.
Salary enhancements are available for Associate's or Bachelor's degrees, as well as bi-lingual skills.
Marion county residency is required within six months of employment.
