Position Summary

This position is responsible for assisting in the oversight and performance review of front-line team-members located at Marion County Community Corrections (MCCC) facilities. This includes one or a combination of processing specialists and call center specialists who operate the call center 24/7 for over 3,000 MCCC clients. The incumbent in this position is responsible for the supervision of clients, processing client arrivals and releases, phone calls, requests, and monitoring of GPS location. The incumbent is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations and programming related to MCCC directly responsible for public safety, team-member accountability, and adherence to evidence-based practices. This position assists in making decisions related to public safety, team-member safety, client safety and accountability to records management, maintenance and retention, and administrative services. Incumbent must effectively identify and evaluate available data to exercise sound judgment when evaluating requirements, productivity of team-members and cost effectiveness of programs. Errors in judgment could cause irreparable consequences and lost work hours to the agency. The incumbent has the freedom to use judgment while assisting in policy formulation and in all types of negotiations. This position will provide assistance and assume managerial duties in the absence of the supervisor. Position is required to be on-call 24-hours a day seven (7) days a week and may participate on a rotation schedule. Position reports to the Supervisor.

Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring policies and procedures are properly enforced and are consistent with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Responsible for ensuring emergency plans are in place and team-members are trained
  • Ensures internal and external problems, conflicts, and issues are dealt with appropriately through the use of investigation, fact finding, interviews, and analysis of information, including citizen and client complaints or grievances
  • Prepares statistical data and reports to summarize and evaluate program performance
  • Assists in development of policies, procedures, and grant reports for the agency
  • Respond to citizen and client grievances relating to the agency
  • Reviews and monitors client treatment plans and programs, schedules clients for programs, monitors client participation, and ensures compliance to program rules and regulations
  • Attends court hearings and proceedings regarding program candidates
  • Participates in the staffing of cases to supervisors and reviews recommendations for referrals
  • Conducts quality control reviews of front-line team-members
  • Ensures the implementation and adherence to evidence-based practices (EBP) for community corrections, including vendors
  • Acts as a liaison or representative with agencies, divisions, and criminal justice partners at the state and local levels
  • Prepares current and future needs assessments for efficient staffing levels, performance of team-members, and contractors
  • Creates and completes all screenings associated with the intake process
  • Reviews the completion of all clients processed and released
  • Creates resource guides for clients and team-members to coordinate with EBP guidelines
  • Tracks the status of all clients ordered to report from Court, Department of Corrections(DOC), OCC, Marion County Jail (MCJ), to home detention upon release
  • Compiles and maintains daily, monthly, yearly tracking data to be presented to department supervisor
  • Reviews accuracy of credit time of all monitored clients upon reporting from DOC to determine placement modifications
  • Creates, reviews, and sends violations or memos to court during and after hours on a 24/7 basis
  • Facilitates the initial transfer and eligibility for clients sentenced to treatment facilities
  • Confidentiality is to be maintained at all times

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent with two (2) years’ experience working in corrections or the criminal justice system. Successful completion of all required trainings. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Requires knowledge in leadership, management, personnel and process performance measurement, investigative principles and practices used in ensuring compliance with appropriate state and federal laws, regulations and requirements of court evidence, and training. Must be able to advise and assist team-members and the public in all aspects of the agency. Must be able to interface with the public regarding procedures. Must be able to interpret and explain court decisions to residents, others, and managers. Emotional intelligence when dealing with people of all backgrounds. Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office.

Preferred Job Requirements and Qualifications

Associates degree in Criminal Justice or equivalent with one (1) year experience working in corrections or the criminal justice system. Successful completion of all required trainings. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Requires knowledge in leadership, management, personnel and process performance measurement, investigative principles and practices used in ensuring compliance with appropriate state and federal laws, regulations and requirements of court evidence, and training. Must be able to advise and assist team-members and the public in all aspects of the agency. Must be able to interface with the public regarding procedures. Must be able to interpret and explain court decisions to residents, others, and managers. Emotional intelligence when dealing with people of all backgrounds. Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office.
