Description
The City of Irvine seeks experienced individuals to monitor the use of swimming pools and facilities, perform rescues of persons in distress, assist with daily facility operations, camps, recreation programs and special events, and coordinate and teach swim and water safety lessons. The part-time positions are up to 20 hours with flexible scheduling and the extended part-time position is 30-32 hours weekly. Shifts are scheduled during these core hours : Monday-Sunday, 5 : 15 a.m.-10 : 30 p.m.
The ideal candidates are at least 15 years old for the Part-time Community Services Leader II (Lifeguard), at least 16 years old for the Part-time Community Services Leader III (Senior Lifeguard / Swim Instructor), or at least 18 years old for the Extended Part-time Community Services Leader III (Senior Lifeguard / Swim Instructor) and have an interest in aquatics or recreation and some experience working with children. There are multiple Part-time Community Services Leader II / III positions and 1 Extended Part-time Community Services Leader III (minimum age of 18 years old).
