Duties include coordinating the activities required by the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination system (NPDES) as it relates to stormwater management plans, annual report submittals, stormwater education and outreach; conducting daily inspections of assigned projects to ensure compliance with ordinances, regulations and construction specifications and other requirements based on state and federal laws; preparing and verifying accurate daily reports and diaries of assigned projects; answering and resolving questions and disputes from business owners and the public concerning inspections and compliance issues; attending meetings with city employees, officials and residents regarding public works projects. Duties also include issuing citations, notices of violation and Stop Work Orders as a sworn officer of the City of Irving and the State of Texas. A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, and three years of public works construction project or other relevant experience. Must have a valid Class C driver's license. Must currently have or be able to obtain the following certifications within a specified period of time : Railroad Safety certification, OSHA 30 Hour Construction Certification, and Qualified Compliance Inspector of Stormwater (QCIS) or similar certification.
