What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker I position at City of Irving?
Duties include responding and investigating flooding, drainage or ponding water concerns; removing sediment, silt, trash and debris from stormwater structures and drainage systems; using basic equipment and tools in wet areas, vegetated areas and steep and unstable slopes; cleaning, servicing and maintaining assigned tools, machinery, equipment and vehicles; ensuring all established safety precautions and practices are observed during the performance of work; and helping with booth set up and providing assistance at Stormwater Education and Outreach events. Dependent upon assignment, duties may focus on debris removal from drainage systems. Six months of related experience; the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance; and a valid Class C Texas driver’s license required. Must have basic computer skills and possess, or be able to obtain within six months from date of hire, a valid Class A Texas Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Schedule will include some after-hours, weekends and holidays.
PAY GRADE GG10 / FULL PAY RANGE $17.60 - $24.81 PER HOUR
