What are the responsibilities and job description for the Property Evidence Analyst position at City of Irving?
This position performs multiple duties related to locating and seizing stolen property, logging evidence into the property room, and processing through the Irving Municipal Court to establish ownership. Duties also include inspecting and monitoring pawn shops and other regulated stores to ensure compliance with state and local regulatory statutes; retrieving copies of store transactions and maintaining transaction in database; researching and running property transaction serial numbers through law enforcement and commercial databases to identify stolen property as evidence and logging into the property room for disposition; disseminating property evidence information and trends with criminal investigators, and acting as a department representative in municipal court property hearings; retrieving and securely transporting Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) evidence kits from medical facilities to forensic labs for analysis or the property room when necessary; assisting in compiling homicide case files, ensuring accurate documentation, and storage; and overseeing the false alarm reduction program, handling appeals and resident/business concerns.Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to completion of high school required. Clerical and customer service experience is beneficial. Must have, or be able to obtain, NCIC certification and an appropriate Texas driver’s license. Duties may require lifting up to 50 poundsfrequently and will involve access to sensitive Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS), which requires that a thorough background check be conducted. Candidates will be subject to a polygraph exam and criminal history check. Must not have any criminal conviction above the grade of a Class B misdemeanor or any Class B misdemeanor within the past 10 years; other convictions may also be considered. Normal schedule is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Friday with some evenings hours. Applicants must submit hours of availability with application.
PAY GRADE GG13 / FULL PAY RANGE $20.53 - $28.94 PER HOUR
