Description:
Duties: Perform inspections of single family housing for compliance with housing code, inspect exterior for electrical, plumbing, sanitation, ventilation defects of hazards, issue notices of violations and abatement. Conduct field inspections to uncover unsafe, abandoned and dilapidated houses, vehicles or other private property in violation of city code of ordinances. Investigate possible violations. Perform initial, renewal and interim inspections of housing units for families and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Two years of experience in building construction, code enforcement or a related field. Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade supplemented by additional training in construction or the building trades.

Duties: Responsible for the relatively independent performance of planning functions and projects requiring various combinations of skill in research, analysis, development, presentation and interpretation of concepts and data pertaining to planning and implementation of plans; required to be proficient in at least two sets of the three methods and principles; statistics, GIS, and design; assist in updating development Ordinances, including Zoning and Subdivision regulations, develop appropriate urban design standards to use in mixed use zoning districts; conduct studies and needs assessments for the development of programs to address significant community issues; compile information and make recommendations on special studies and prepare planning reports, collect, record and summarize statistical and demographic information; establish and maintain a comprehensive database.
Qualifications: Possession of a Bachelor's degree in urban planning, architecture, urban design, or other job-related discipline; or other job-related discipline; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
