Job Brief: Description: Duties: Select, train, motivate and evaluate professional, technical and clerical accounting staff, manage the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for each assigned area; establish appropriate service and staffing levels, allocate resources accordingly, direct the forecast of funds implement budgetary adjustments as necessary, advise departments and division on accounting problem, policies, and procedures; assist in the maintenance of proper controls; provide training to the city departments, supervise/participate in the preparation of difficult and complex financial reports, analyze financial reports; analyze financial reports and statements to determine trends or irregularities; perform other duties as assigned. Qualification: Seven (7) years of increasingly responsible governmental accounting experience., including four (4) years of administrative or supervisory responsibility. Completion of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in finance, accounting business administration, or a related field. Advanced knowledge of principles and practices of municipal budget preparation and administration, complex financial record keeping and reporting; ability to prepare and administer a budget; prepare clear and concise administrative and financial reports.
