Duties: Prepare, maintain and update various records and files; participate in special projects and assignments as requested; monitor accounts to ensure sufficient funds to pay invoices; prepare and process purchase requistions and request for payment, PER3 and PER7; May assist in the preparation and administration of the annual budget; assist management staff in implementation of new programs, systems procedures and operational methods; coordinate project activities with other departments or divisions and within governmental regulations; prepare and distribute reports for review and use; prepare and maintain a variety of forms used by assigned department. Maintain inventory of supplies, participate in professional group meetings, seminars and conferences, maintain and update personnel files, calendar or activities, meetings, work and leave time records for various personnel. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth(12th)grade supplemented by college level courses in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field, Three(3)years of increasingly responsible administrative support experience. Three(3) years of Customer Service Experience.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT FOR CITY EMPLOYEES:
Within six (6) months from date of employment, must establish residence within the City of Jackson.
PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT, APPLICANT RECOMMENDED FOR EMPLOYMENT SHALL BE REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS A URINALYSIS AND/OR BLOOD TEST TO SCREEN FOR ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUG ABUSE.
