POSITION DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Recreation Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Parks & Recreation
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Park and Rec Director
SUMMARY:
To supervise and coordinate youth and adult sports programming; assists with program publicity, player and team registration, team assignment, games schedule development, training and recruitment of volunteer coaches, and development of fee structures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
I. Supervisory Activities 70% of Time
A. Maintains league and program records.
B. Recruits, trains, and supervises the work of volunteers and part-time personnel.
C. Complies with City established guidelines for handling program registration information, fees and other revenue.
D. As needed, provides coverage for those who are off duty assuring continuity of job operation.
E. Provides positive corrective action as needed assuring that employees know what is expected of them and the consequences of their performance in accordance with policies.
F. Tracks employee hours and completes payroll reports.
J. Deals with the public in a professional, courteous manner.
K. Responds to requests by immediate supervisor in an accurate, complete and timely manner.
L. Uses social media to keep players, coaches and volunteers informed.
II. Miscellaneous Activities 30% of Time
A. Develops and maintains working relationships with parents, coaches, officials and program participants; conducts meetings with coaches and officials.
B. Maintains an awareness of the supplies, tools and equipment needed to operate on a routine basis. Assists with ordering and maintains an inventory of supplies and equipment.
C. Assists in the budget development and monitoring process.
D. Recruits and maintains sponsors.
E. Evaluates program effectiveness.
F. Maintains a safe environment for the operation of all programs, activities, and facilities to minimize injury and risk.

¨ Public speaking and advanced skill level with computer knowledge and usage, along with social media experience.
¨ Knowledge of athletic program standards, rules, and regulations.
¨ Valid driver’s license.
