THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE IS LOOKING FOR AN ENERGETIC PROFESSIONAL TO DEVELOP, ORGANIZE AND MANAGE CITY-WIDE EVENTS AND PROGRAMS FOR THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
COORDINATE, DEVELOP AND MANAGE THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE’S YEARLY EVENTS.
- SUPERVISE FULL AND PART TIME PERSONNEL ENGAGED WITH CITY EVENTS.
- CONTACT BUSINESSES AND INDIVIDUALS SEEKING PARTNERSHIPS WITH THE PARKS DEPARTMENTS.
- SCHEDULE AND ASSIST WITH EVENTS AND MEETINGS IN NORTH HALL EVENTS CENTER, DEALING WITH CLIENTS AND RENTERS TO ENSURE A SAFE AND SUCCESSFUL EVENT.
- PREPARES REPORTS FOR PARKS COMMISSION AND ATTENDS COMMISSION MEETINGS.
- RECRUIT FARMS AND THE MANAGEMENT OF THE FARMER’S MARKET.
- PREPARES AND DISTRIBUTES FLYERS, POSTERS AND OTHER ADVERTISEMENT RELATED TO THE SPECIAL EVENTS.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM OF THREE YEARS OF EVENT PLANNING, MARKETING OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION; MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY WITH VOLUNTEERS, PUBLIC, BUSINESS LEADERS, BOTH VERBALLY AND WRITTEN. QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE HIGHLY ORGANIZED WITH EXCELLENT ATTENTION TO DETAIL, STRONG SOCIAL MEDIA SKILL, COMFORTABLE ON RADIO AND TELEVISION.
