The Public Works Department is actively seeking a Public Works Contract Construction Manager.

This position reports to the Chief of Right-of-Way and Stormwater Maintenance and is responsible for providing general supervision to the Division's continuous contract construction section that oversees the inspection and contract administration of maintenance and construction projects.
Examples of Work
- Oversees the inspection and contract administration of a broad variety of maintenance and construction projects.
- Plans, designs, coordinates and secures procurement for complex maintenance programs, construction projects including the pavement management program.
- Schedules, assigns, reviews, evaluations and monitors the work of assigned staff.
- Coordinates, inspects, oversees, and monitors the work of assigned contractors and consultants to ensure compliance with contractual documents.
- Tracks, visits, evaluates, and assigns specific contracts to sites in need of resolution for project longevity, timely completion, reduced liability and cost efficiency.
- Coordinates with State and Federal Storm agencies regarding damage or other issues related to contracts due to storms (FEMA, SERT, NRCRS, etc.)
- Evaluate, analyze, track and report on contract funding expenditures.
- Schedule, attend and oversee bid openings, construction meetings and contract awards.
- Investigate and resolve citizen complaints.
- Coordinate work with other departments and entities outside the City when necessary.
- Assigns responsibility, takes corrective action, demonstrates leadership and evaluates, develops and motivates employees.
- Supervises with facts, focuses on results, provides clear direction, and encourages innovation.
Open Requirements/Supplemental Information
- A seven (7) year combination of education, and experience in roadway and drainage design, review or construction, which must have included at least two (2) years in supervisory capacity.
