Jacksonville Fire Department – Now Hiring Firefighter / Paramedic

Are you ready to start a rewarding career in fire service? The Jacksonville Fire Department (JFD) is now accepting applications for the position of Firefighter / Paramedic. This is an opportunity to join a dedicated team committed to protecting and serving the Jacksonville community.

This hiring process will establish an eligibility list for future firefighter / paramedic openings, which will remain in effect for two years. If you have a strong work ethic, a passion for public service, and the desire to be part of an elite firefighting team, we encourage you to apply!

Application Packet Available : February 13, 2025 (Available online)
Application Submission Deadline : March 28, 2025, by 2 : 00 PM
In-Person Physical Agility Test : April 26, 2025 (Held at Jacksonville Fire Department)
Online Examination : Week of April 28, 2025

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Progression :

Starting Salary : $60,000

5th-Year Salary (2029) : $89,314.97

Work Schedule & Training :

24 / 48 Shift Schedule (24 hours on duty, 48 hours off duty)
