The City of Jefferson is currently accepting applications for Pool Attendantsfor our Parks and Recreation Department. This seasonal position works at Memorial Park Family Aquatic Center and/or Ellis-Porter Riverside Pool. Excellent customer service and communication skills necessary.
Maintain clean, presentable work area. Perform additional custodial duties as required.
Must effectively enforce all rules and policies of the pool facility.
Maybe required to teach swimming lessons if needed.
Greet all guests upon arrival, offer assistance to all customer needs.
Receive payment for pool admissions and enter payments into cash register.
Answer incoming phone calls.
Communicate in a friendly manner to all requests.
Detail orientated.
Make sure that each individuals experience at the facility is as special as possible.
Knowledge of pool facility and all Parks and Recreation Department programs.
Slide dispatch and enforce all pool rules.
Follow all appropriate rules and regulations regarding food storage, preparation, and service including safe food handling procedures, as required by the Jefferson City Parks and Recreation Department.
Prepare and sell food and beverages, handle money and operate cash register.
Restock supplies and maintain inventory. Notify Pool Manager when food items are running low.Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required to attend mandatory preseason training, staff meetings and weekly in-service training.
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of the American standard measure.
Ability to be a good listener.
Self-motivated with the ability to work without supervision.
Pools are open 6 - 13 hours per day, seven days per week, including holidays. Schedules vary up to 40 hours per week with weekend and holidays required.
The starting hourly salary for Pool Attendant is $13.75.
