Property Remediation Laborer
General Purpose:
Duties include a wide variety of municipal activities, including light and heavy physical labor, indoor and outdoor work, manual tasks, and occasionally the use of smaller power-operated tools. Positions pay $13.52 hr/40 hours per week for a period of no longer than 12 weeks. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, City resident is preferred. The City is an EEO/AA employer

40 hours per week
30-week position April thru October
Monday thru Friday 8:00AM to 4:30PM
Supervision Received:
Instructions from the Codes/BCO Supervisor and/or his/her designee. Work is reviewed through field visits and written and oral reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the general upkeep, including but not limited to city streets, rubbish and debris removal, sidewalks
- Pushes wheelbarrow to move sand, asphalt, debris.
- Sweeps walks; cuts grass with a push-type lawn mower and/or weed edger; removes refuse and paper from grounds and buildings; trims hedges and picks up leaves/yard waste.
- Loads and unloads heavy material from trucks and vans; moves or aids in moving heavy boxes or equipment and large bulky objects.
- Operates various City highway equipment, including but not limited to Truck and trailer.
- May operate other construction or power equipment, which may include mowing, with push mower and brush hog. Weed eaters and attachments.
- Will require proper use of safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to take direction, navigation, and knowledge of City Streets
- Performance of other work assigned by Supervisor.
Requirements:
Graduation from High School or GED
Must be 18 Years Old
Valid Driver’s license
Must have work boots
Must pass Drug Screening and Background Check
